I’m getting a BJ’s Membership while they’re still cheap

Spend $20 or $50 instead of $55 and $110 (but honestly, that’s not even the coolest part).

TL;DR: You can get a BJ’s Club or Club+ Membership on sale for $20 and $50 respectively.

I’ve been eyeing my grocery receipts and gas bills lately, and let’s just say it’s not pretty. That’s when I started looking into BJ’s Wholesale Club because it sounds pretty convenient to only need to stop one place for food, home essentials, and so many other things I seem to be running out of constantly. Who is using all these paper towels?

But like everything, BJ’s isn’t one-size-fits-all — they’ve got different membership options. So, which one should I actually go for? Let’s break it down.

Which BJ’s Membership is the right fit for me?

First up, there’s the Club+ Card Membership. It’s $50 a year, which might sound like a lot, but it comes with some pretty cool perks. For one, I’d earn 2% back on most purchases, whether I’m shopping in-store or online. Not to brag, but I’m very good at buying too much stuff at any given store, so it’s nice to know some of my impulse buys would pay for each other.

And then there’s the gas savings — five cents off every gallon at BJ’s Gas. My little Subaru Crosstrek deserves better than the nearly monthly instances where she’s running on fumes. Plus, if I spend $150 in the first 30 days, I get a $50 reward. Not bad, right?

Then there’s the Club Card Membership for $20 a year. It doesn’t have the same cashback or gas discounts, but I still get access to BJ’s low prices on all the bulk items. And there’s a reward with this one too: $20 if I spend $60 in the first 30 days. So if I’m just looking to try things out without diving in completely, this could be the way to go.

Honestly, it all comes down to how much I think I’ll shop. If I see myself making regular trips, the Club+ Card Membership feels like the better choice with all those extra benefits. But if I’m more of a once-in-a-while shopper, the Club Card is still a good deal and gets me through the door. Either way, I’ll save more than I’m spending on the membership, and that’s a win in my book.

Either way, time for me to start shopping somewhere that actually has everything I need. No more second trips.
