Wisconsin is home to nearly a quarter of the nation's dairy farms, so it makes gouda sense that we would be the host of the World Dairy Expo. The COVID-19 pandemic forced organizers to shut down last year, but they’re moovin’ forward with plans this year, carrying on the 50-year tradition that typically hosts 60,000+ visitors a year.

The expo is a launch pad for new products in retail, research, brands, and companies that serve the dairy industry. From dairy product competitions and seminars to 4-H contests and virtual farm tours, there’s something for all cheeseheads.

If you’re not there to learn, graze on over for the good eats. There’s a grilled cheese stand featuring specialty cheese like colby swiss + triple pepper jack. And you can finish off your meal with ice cream made from Wisconsin-based dairy products.

Download the expo’s app on the App Store or Google Play store, and you can see the ice cream flavor of the day, map out your trip + create a custom schedule for your day. Plus, if you get the app, you could also be 1 of 3 lucky winners to win a free trip to Nashville.

To celebrate its return, the expo is throwing a free concert in The TanBark this Friday at 8 p.m. featuring Dillon Carmichael and Meghan Patrick.

The expo starts today at the Alliant Energy Center. Tickets are $12 for ages 12+, and children 11 and under get in free. You can also get a 5-day pass for $35. And an added bonus — all tickets include parking.

Can’t make it this year? Mark your calendars for World Dairy Expo 2022 which is scheduled for Sun., Oct. 2-Fri., Oct. 7.
