It’s National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day.

Recently, we asked what your go-to lunch was when you attended elementary school:

“Whatever the lunch lady was serving!”
“Lunchables.”
“I went home every day to Chef Boyardee.”

Most of us, as we read through your responses, ate PB&J, bologna sandwiches, and pizza.

Here's where to pick up school lunch staples in Madison.

PB&J

Cheba Hut, 453 W. Gilman St.
Try the Sticky Icky.

Monty's Blue Plate Diner, 2089 Atwood Ave.
Anything on Madison Sourdough is good.

Lunch meat

Alimentari. 306 S. Brearly St.
Bologna is one thing, mortadella is something else entirely.

Hot Lunch, 708 ¼ E. Johnson St.
There’s an 80s/90s vibe here with sammies like turkey and tuna. (BTW, we hear a PB&J dessert is coming to their menu soon)

Pizza

Ian’s was recently voted, by you, the best pizza in Madison. Check out our pizza guide.
