Every year, the Goodman Community Center orchestrates a Thanksgiving Basket Drive to help out Madisonians who need a little extra help putting together Thanksgiving dinner.

This year, there are 4,000 families registered to receive a Thanksgiving basket. This adds up to around 25,000 individuals, including close to 10,000 children.

So, how can we help?

👥 Food Drives

The Goodman Center is all about community. You can activate your communities — at work, in your neighborhood, or at your place of worship — to donate items on this year's shopping list. Not sure where to start? Check out the Goodman Center's Food Drive Kit for helpful resources.

🥫 Fill Up + Drop Off

Donations from community members are the backbone of this organization. Whether you conducted a food drive of your own or just collected a few extra items to give, the center's gymnasium is open on the following dates for drop-offs:

Wednesday - Friday, Nov. 16-18 | 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
Saturday - Sunday, Nov. 19-20 | 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

🕰️ Donate Your Time

Need a few volunteer hours? Looking for a family-friendly way to give back? Sign up to volunteer with the Goodman Community Center. You can sign up individually or as a group + be notified year-round about opportunities based on your interests and availability.

💸 Financial Support

If your schedule doesn't allow for extra grocery trips or organizing a food drive, you're not alone. The Goodman Community Center is always accepting financial donations which will go towards filling the Thanksgiving baskets with last-minute items like fresh produce, dairy products, and the pièce de résistance, pies.

🗣️ Talk Turkey

While donating — money, time, and food — is always appreciated, the Goodman Center asks that the community uses word of mouth to spread awareness about their cause. Regardless of if or how you choose to contribute, share this article with your friends, family, and social media pages to help ensure full bellies all across the 608 this Thanksgiving.
