The holidays are almost here and if you’re hosting out of town guests in San Antonio, but aren’t sure where to take them or what sights to see, we’ve got plenty of recommendations for you to build the perfect itinerary for your visitors.

Sightseeing

Is it even a trip to San Antonio without visiting the River Walk? The iconic downtown staple is especially stunning this time of year with towering trees adorned with holiday lights.

You can also take your visitors to St. Mary’s Strip for murals galore — bring your camera and snap the perfect family photo.

If you’ve got any history buffs in the group, head to the San Fernando Cathedral — visit the website to plan when to watch San Antonio | The Saga light projection show.

Coffee + Beverages

If your guests need coffee to get going in the morning, but you’re not exactly a barista — Rosella, Revolución, and Barrio Barista are all offering a range of seasonal drinks.

Need plans after sunset? See the city from a rooftop bar: Paramour, Bar America, and Rooftop at the Fairmount Hotel.

For the whole family

Let the kids — or grandkids — run around + explore the Doseum or plan a visit to Kiddie Park — the oldest children’s amusement park in the country. Pro tip: the park recently relocated to the San Antonio Zoo. Check out all the major upgrades coming soon.

Load up the car and spend the afternoon exploring the zoo or take the family bowling at Bowl & Barrel.

See a kid-friendly show at the Magik Theater — Ella Enchanted is currently running through Fri., Dec. 24.

Indoor activities

Temps this time of year can get pretty low, so spend a day exploring indoors at the San Antonio Museum of Art. Pro tip: the museum is celebrating their 40th anniversary with a new exhibit.

If you’ve got any basketball fans in the group, here is the Spurs’ winter game schedule.

Lastly, you can also send your visitors our event calendar in advance to get a feel for what kinds of things they’ll want to see + do while in town.
