All things weird + wonderful await in the vibrant Mueller neighborhood at the Origin Hotel in Austin (just over an hour up I-35 S). With breathtaking skyline views, Instagram-worthy decor, delish dishes at the on-site restaurant, and more, it’s the perfect location for a little weekend getaway.

From solo trips (hint: a weekend away from the kids or the never-ending house chores) to romantic stays (perfect for an anniversary gift, we might add) to group getaways (hello, perfect bachelorette party destination), the Origin provides an exclusive experience in the pet-friendly hotel. And, yes, it’s pet-friendly.

Here’s what you can experience when you stay at the Origin:

Location

You know what they say — location is everything, and the Origin has one of the best. The hotel is nestled in the heart of Mueller, one of Austin’s funkiest, most eclectic neighborhoods, featuring front-door access to shopping, dining, and a 30-acre Lake Park.

Culinary excursion

Mueller’s newest restaurant and cocktail destination, Blue Lacy, is poised to claim its place on the list of Austin’s best restaurants. Their all-day menu features American classics reimagined with unique flavors.

Our recommendation: Head to the patio for Happy Hour and enjoy a hand-crafted signature cocktail to unwind. (We hear the new blood orange margarita is the move.)

Outdoor adventure

Mueller is the perfect home base for adventuring out and seeing all the weird + wonderful parts of Austin you may not already know about. Plan an afternoon of paddleboarding, explore South Congress Street, and make special memories. Pro tip: Ask their expert staff for tailored suggestions.

More amenities

Bike around Austin on the Origin’s complimentary bikes.

Blissful night’s rest

End the night laying in luxury on a plush bed overlooking scenic sights courtesy of the oversized windows. Sweet dreams.
