The day has finally come — H-E-B announced plans to open its first grocery store in Fort Worth at Alliance Town Center. Here’s what we know.

A groundbreaking was held Wed., Nov. 16 at 3451 Heritage Trace Pkwy. — across the street from Kroger Marketplace and adjacent to Bluestem Park. The store is expected to open in 2024. Here’s an overview of what to expect:

True Texas BBQ | The restaurant was named the“best barbecue chain in Texas” by Texas Monthly and will feature classic barbecue dishes including smoked meats, sandwiches, and sides.
Curbside Pickup and Home Delivery | Customers can place orders online for pickup at the store or delivery at home.
Full H-E-B Pharmacy | The drive-thru pharmacy provides prescriptions at low prices, same-day prescription delivery, auto refills, immunizations, and more.
Texas Backyard Department | Shop for outdoor essentials from gardening tools the furniture.
H-E-B Wellness Primary Care Clinic | Services include primary care, physical therapy, health/nutrition coaching, clinical pharmacists, specialty referrals, and labs.

In the spirit of celebrating the groundbreaking, H-E-B gifted $10,000 to five community nonprofits including, Artes de la Rosa, Alliance for Children, Community Storehouse, Cornerstone Assistance Network, and Bette Perot Elementary.

The Alliance location is the second that H-E-B has confirmed for Tarrant County. In August, it was announced that H-E-B will break ground on a 28-acre site in Mansfield at the corner of US 287 and Broad Street — about 20 minutes from downtown. Construction is expected to begin at the start of the new year.

If this sounds like déjà vu, you’re not wrong. Back in June, we reported that H-E-B was expanding to the Alliance Town Center., but Alliance developer Hillwood released a statement saying it “inadvertently” included H-E-B in its announcement about the development and that the grocer had not yet made any public announcements.

The Alliance location will be the fifth store planned for North Texas, adding to the eight that are already open. The San Antonio-based chain has also purchased four other pieces of land in Fort Worth, but there are no other confirmed stores for now.
