Have you tried counting the cranes in downtown Nashville? There are 26, in case you were wondering.

That’s just one of many stats uncovered in Nashville Downtown Partnership’s latest market conditions report, which looks at the state of downtown retail, residential, and development. Whether you're one of the 17,000 residents who call downtown home or just work or play there, let's dig into the numbers.

Retail

Talk about pride in place. Did you know that downtown is made up primarily of local businesses? According to NDP, 69% of merchants are local, 20% are regional, and 11% are national. Over 20 shops and restaurants have opened so far this year, including Frank Sinatra's Bar & Lounge, Teddy’s Tavern, and The Co-Op Frose & Eatery.

Looking ahead, Five Daughters Bakery, Blind Barber, and Phillippe Chow are all in development — see the full list in the report.
