Truthfully, there’s nothing we could open with that doesn’t sound gimmicky and overused. So we won’t. Our only goal today is to provide you all with local Valentine’s Day ideas for every type of person, from the poor planner who nevertheless hopes to plan a nice date (you know who you are), to the Galentine’s Day BFFs, to the cutest couple in Chattanooga.

For the…

💗 Galentine’s Day observers

Honor the queen of Galentine’s Day, Leslie Knope, by grabbing a Galentine’s Day brunch full of waffles at Maple Street Biscuit Co. or Aretha Frankensteins and “kick it breakfast style.”

Pro Tip: If you're headed to Aretha Frankensteins, you may have to wait a bit to get in — just know that it’s worth it.

If brunch isn’t your thing, head to Vinterest Hixson’s Golden Girls Galentine’s Costume Party for drinks, storewide sales, a costume contest, and dessert.

💘 Major Romantics

Take advantage of the Read House’s romance package, including an in-room bottle of champagne, cupcake trio, and “romantic turndown.” While you’re there, check out the three specialty dishes + desserts offered at Bridgeman’s Chophouse from Feb. 11-14.

Try something new with an evening at JMac’s Wine Bar with vintage music, drinks, and cheese boards, or take in the beautiful mountain views offered at Top of the Rock in nearby Jasper.

Our favorite fancy date night spots? Editor Brianna is a sucker for the crispy brussels at Two Ten Jack (plus, it’s special to me — my fiancé and I ate there the night we got engaged), and Editor Kristen keeps it classic with the dim lighting, candles, and delicious Italian food at Boccaccia.

💸 Budget date-seekers

Plan a lovely date without breaking the bank by packing a picnic + enjoying a meal with the Scenic City on display at Sunset Rock or Signal Point.

You can also try out a spot with a nice meal, but save money by bringing your own drinks to a spot without corkage fees — Canyon Grill is BYOB without the fee, and Board & Brush is BYOB of wine to one of the DIY Wood Sign Workshops with only a $5 corkage fee.

🛀 Homebodies

Proof is offering Valentine’s dinner for two that you enjoy from your very own home. Place your order for your chef made meal kit to share with your Valentine by today. Pickup will be on Valentine’s Day between 4-6 p.m.

Good Fortune Soap & Spa has everything you need for an at-home spa day. With bath + body products to wind down paired with candles and essential oils to set the mood, if having a relaxing night is your move, they have you covered.

🍾 Ones wanting a great date with minimal effort

DYK there’s a business that can take care of all the date planning + details for you? LoveRunners has a wide variety of date packages which are all detail-oriented based on what you desire. Want to play a bigger role in the planning? They have a build-your-own romantic experience as well.

You can also have the perfect picnic planned + supplied for you by Southern Pearl Picnics or Picnic by the River. Southern Pearl Picnics offers themed packages based on the flowers they’re named after. Picnic by the River has several package options + add ons based on your wants and needs.
