We hope you don’t think hiking season is over just because of some upcoming chillier weather — because it's time for Outshine Adventures’ annual Winter Hike Challenge.

Participants are tasked with hiking 90 miles in 90 days, “to enjoy the physical and mental health benefits of being active outside during the winter months.”

The challenge will kick off on Thursday, Dec. 21, and will run through Tuesday, March 19. Participants can register online + choose their reward levels to receive prizes and have a native tree planted in their honor. Instructions on how to track your progress will also be provided.

Additionally, Outshine Adventures will lead guided group hikes in the area on the first Saturday in January, February, and March ranging from 5-7 miles on moderately challenging terrain. Note: Even if you don't join the challenge, folks can participate for $20.
