All the world's a stage. City Editor Stephanie here. As a thespian (read: a fancy way to say "theatre person"), I was so excited to visit a rehearsal for "A Christmas Carol" at Greenville Technical College. This holiday classic is no stranger to Greenville Tech, as it has been staged there many-a-time before.

What we tried:

We attended the first blocking rehearsal for "A Christmas Carol." Blocking is when the director tells the actors where to go and when.

These rehearsals are incredibly important, and typically happen first so that actors can get a feel for the script in their body before they work on acting.

What not to miss:

You're definitely going to want to see this show, but Greenville Tech also offers courses in:

Theatre
Acting
Makeup for performance
Stagecraft
Script analysis
Voice + diction for the stage

If you've ever wanted to learn more about theatre, Greenville Tech has you covered.

What we’re still talking about:

These students receive real-world experience through two productions each fall and spring semester, gaining theatrical skills and confidence.

You could tell how much they enjoyed themselves during the rehearsal, and the best part is the performances are open to the public.
