[PLACEHOLDER CONTENT] Mark your calendars, Greenville — the SEC Women's Basketball Tournament is heading back to Bon Secours Wellness Arena, and the Upstate is ready to roll out the welcome mat for some of the best college hoops in the country.

What you need to know

The tournament brings 14 teams to downtown Greenville for a week of intense competition, starting Wednesday, March 4 and culminating in the championship game on Sunday, March 8. Last year's event drew more than 60,000 fans and generated an estimated $15 million in economic impact for the region.

"There's nothing like tournament week in Greenville," said VisitGreenvilleSC president David Montgomery. "The energy downtown is electric — restaurants are packed, hotels are full, and the whole city becomes a basketball town."

Beyond the arena

The action isn't limited to the court. Main Street will host a free SEC FanFare with live music, food trucks, and interactive games from Thursday through Sunday. The Greenville Drive stadium parking lots will be converted into a tailgate zone, and several downtown restaurants are offering tournament-themed specials.

Getting there

Parking downtown will be tight, so organizers are encouraging fans to use the free trolley from the County Square garage or the expanded Greenlink shuttle routes. Tickets are available online, with single-session passes starting at $35 and all-session packages at $150.

Pro tip: The Wednesday and Thursday sessions are the best value — smaller crowds, cheaper tickets, and plenty of upset potential as the lower seeds try to make their run.
