One of the things we love about Greenville is its thriving arts community. From galleries to public installations, there’s no shortage of ways to support local artists in our city.

To escape the dog days of summer, we’re taking you on a virtual art crawl through three Greenville galleries + giving you the details to explore these galleries in person.

The exhibition "highlights the collaborative processes in which (artists) work." | Photo by @artcentergvl

Greenville Center for Creative Arts, 101 Abney St.
Current exhibition: "In Flux" | Ends Wed., July 27
The works by Brent Dedas, Tom Dimond, and Andy Holliday in collaboration with Lijun Chao communicate visual conversations either between the artists, with chaotic external forces, or with their own memories.

This work was inspired by the quote, “Life changes in an instant. The ordinary instant.” | Photo by @artandlightgallery

Art and Light Gallery, 16 Aiken St.
Current exhibition: "The Ordinary Instant" | Ends Sat., July 30
Eva Magill Oliver’s works explore how fragile and fleeting life can be + how life is made up of an infinite amount of ordinary instants that ultimately shape and mold our entire lives.

Sarah's cocktail series makes us thirsty. | Photo by @watercolors_by_sarah_gvl

Artists Guild Gallery, 200 N. Main St.
Current exhibition: Sarah Contreras Watercolors | Ends Sat., July 30
Sarah’s bold and colorful watercolors feature a number of cocktail-inspired paintings that look so real you could drink ‘em.

A new month means new exhibitions, so catch these works before they’re gone.

Pro tip: Block off Fri., August 5 to check out the Metropolitan Arts Council (aka MAC) First Friday event, where you can be among the first to catch the new installations.
Check out MAC’s map of participating galleries + plan your route.
