We're making a new (school) year's resolution: Make it to more local plays and musicals.

Want to join us? Let's start with Columbia's — make that the country's — oldest continuously operating community theatre. Town Theatre, located right downtown at 1012 Sumter St., has planned its 106th season with audiences of all ages in mind.

Mark your calendar for:

Season opener "Kiss Me, Kate," running Sept. 12-28
Holiday classic "A Christmas Carol: The Musical," Dec. 5-21
Comedic thriller "Over My Dead Body" (calling all "Only Murders in the Building" fans) in January
Enchanting spring musical "The Secret Garden," hitting the stage in March
Cult favorite "Little Shop of Horrors," closing out the season + kicking off the summer

Pro tip: Want the best seats and special savings? Town members know how to enjoy theatre to its fullest.
