The latest renderings of Savage Craft Ale Works, the brewery + beer garden coming to West Columbia, were released by Studio 2LR this week.

The brewery was initially set to open in Summer 2019, but infrastructure issues + negotiations caused delays to their renovation process. Recently, they stated they’re now on track to open in May of 2020

Here are a few fast facts to catch you up on the addition to West Cola, along with some photos to get you excited.

The brewery will consist of preserving several historic structures, including the former West Columbia City Hall + Fire Station building (originally constructed in 1925) + an old jail (constructed in 1906).
A 3,000 sq.ft. taproom will be housed on the first floor of the former fire station.
There will be private dining + meeting space on the second floor, where City Hall used to be.

A new, 5,000 sq.ft building is being added to the back of the property, which will house a microbrewery + a rooftop terrace.
There will also be a beer garden, fire pit + a stage for live music on the grounds next to the brewery.

Our favorite part? The fact that the brewery is in the River District (430 Center St., W. Columbia) – meaning all of this will be walking distance to some of our WeCo favorites, like Terra, Cafe Strudel, New Brookland Tavern, Black Rooster, the Riverwalk + more.
