It’s a good time to be an expectant mom in CHS. Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital just opened its newly renovated Labor and Delivery unit for new moms and babies, designed with the full patient experience in mind (read: expansive 400-sqft rooms, a redesigned nursery, and state-of-the-art labor equipment).

Here’s what new moms + company can look forward to (besides, of course, the arrival of the little one).

By the numbers:

First, let’s get you started with some standout numbers:

11: Labor + delivery rooms.
400: Square feet of each room.
2: Dedicated low-birth intervention rooms.
5: Antepartum rooms for pre-childbirth treatments.
3: Nurse stations to monitor mother’s progress.

A “big” change:

A notable change is the doubled size of their labor and delivery rooms, which were previously 200 square feet. This gives plenty of space for mom, her support person, and a team of nurses + doctors ready to attend to the needs, comfort, and personalized medical care of mom + baby. Rooms are brightly lit, modernized, and designed to create a relaxing environment. Bonus: the bathrooms are spacious, too.

More privacy + specialized care:

Renovations extend to the Level II Nursery for the increased privacy of families caring for premature babies. The hospital also now has five antepartum rooms for the specialized care of expectant moms to treat issues such as preterm labor, pregnancy-induced hypertension + diabetes.
