Listen up, class — Higher education in Missouri just earned another top mark thanks to the Kansas City Art Institute's recent designation as a Fulbright Top Producer.

Not ringing a bell? It's our country's most prestigious international academic exchange program, sending US citizens to teach, research + carry out professional projects in over 135 countries.

The award recognizes colleges + universities with the highest number of faculty selected for the Fulbright US Scholar Program. KCAI sent two for the 2023-2024 academic year:

Professor Laura Berman of KCAI's Printmaking Department, who is currently researching at the University of Canberra's Centre for Creative and Cultural Research in Australia.
Professor Cyrus Console-Soican of KCAI's Liberal Arts Department, who is writing and translating contemporary Romanian poets and teaching at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iași, Romania.

This is the first time an art institution in the state of Missouri has been awarded this honor.
