Good job, dedicated Kansas Citian. If you’re getting this, it means you’re already one of the most informed + connected residents in The Heart of America (or at least you’re about to be).

We are KCtoday — your new go-to for navigating all things Kansas City. Whether you’re walking the dog, still in bed, sitting in the carpool line, or sipping your morning coffee, your life as a smart, engaged Kansas Citian just got a little bit easier.

Here’s what you can expect. ⬇️

We’ll share what you need to know in the KC metro each day — from ranking the best dishes at a new restaurant, to breaking down affordable housing — so you can wake up, read one (free) email, learn something new and move forward with your day. We call that a win.

Because you’re an early subscriber ⬇️

We’re giving you a sneak peek into what we’re working on. Here’s what you’ll find in our upcoming newsletters:

August PlanAhead calendar. Surprise! We’ve already published it. Find it here. Each month you can use our curated events calendar to find the best ways to fill all of your days around town — from shows + sports to seminars. 🗓️
Missouri is turning 200 years old. Happy birthday! We’re checking in on the state’s history + finding out how you can celebrate. 🎂
Looking to squeeze the most out of the rest of summer? We’ll show you the future of pool parties + how to get away from the city in style. ☀️
Also, Kansas City is growing. We’ll discuss what that means for first-time home buyers — we know there are a lot of you out there — and we’ll dive into the businesses + history behind some major renovations. 🏙️

Plus, we’ll be chatting with you about a bunch of upcoming local festivals, including two new ones — Shake the Lake Country Music Festival in KC + Tacos & Tequila Festival in KCK. It’s party time. 🎉

Who are we? ⬇️

KCtoday is the 11th city that 6AM City (our parent company) is helping make smarter + more informed. We also exist in Nashville (NASHtoday), Raleigh (RALtoday), Louisville (LOUtoday), Charleston (CHStoday) + more. We’re written for locals by locals — who you will get to know in the coming weeks.

If you’re as excited as we are about this adventure, forward this email to your friends + family and encourage them to subscribe for diverse, hyperlocal Kansas City content.
