There's a new card on the block...

Aimed at connecting residents to city services at no cost, KCMO's Fountain Card is now up for grabs. No ID? No problem — this municipal measure is a low-barrier process compared to state ID verification.

What does it do?

A card-carrying resident can access:

Community centers that require proof of residency
RideKC paratransit, tow lot, parking and permit services
Leaf and brush, compost + recycling drop-offs
KC Water's municipal water services
City health department services, like retrieving birth/death certificates

The city is working to partner with local public libraries so that residents can use Fountain Cards to obtain library cards and as proof of identification to open accounts at local banking institutions.

How to I get one?

Stop by the Kansas City Health Department (2400 Troost Ave.) during operating hours with proof of identification and proof of residency.

Don't have a driver's license or passport? Two alternate forms of identification — like shelter name bands, a letter from social service agencies, or a school yearbook — can be used instead.
great job getting those sections in!
