Blow out the candles. Today, Aug. 9, marks two years since we started serving Kansas City — and we wouldn't change a thing about it. Here's what our editors have to say about this fine day + a peek at our highlight reel.

Our birthday speeches

I'm City Editor Bella Rainey. I've been with the KCtoday for almost a full year now.

Editor Bella checking in. Wow — two years of KCtoday. From the newsletter to our social media, we couldn't make this happen without your support. Getting to be in your inbox every morning is truly an honor.

My favorite memory from year two has to be covering the NFL Draft. I can't wait to see what is in store for year three.

I'm City Editor Charmaine Merriweather. Feel free to call me Charm. | KCtoday

Editor Charmaine at your service. As we celebrate, I want to say I love our community of readers and I feel blessed to get to spread good news.

My favorite memory so far is the grand opening of Vine Street Brewing Co. It was a historic moment for KC's Black community and I'm proud to have been a witness.

BTW, it's also our sales rep Ana's birthday today. We hear the best present is sending an email about advertising.
