Boston's 12-day design festival kicks off today. This year's theme? "Design for Tomorrow, Today."

There are 80+ in-person and virtual events for experienced designers and novices alike — here are a handful of ways to get involved.

From "Hokusai: Inspiration and Influence" at the MFA to "Jace Clayton: They Are Part" at the MassArt Art Museum, there's no shortage of ongoing exhibitions to explore throughout the week.

Event organizers recommend setting out for a public art walk in the Seaport, viewing the myriad of murals at Underground at Ink Block, or visiting "The Embrace" on Boston Common.

Last but not least, reference the events schedule for an array of festivities, including a free discussion on antiques at SoWa and an interactive workshop + walking tour at the “Of Many Minds” exhibit in Charlestown.
