Last week, we introduced you to our new local word game — Crossed Words. The hint was: Two words, a circa-1792 Georgian mansion still operating today

Out of 30 responses, 27 readers got the right answer, Locust Grove.

Historic Locust Grove preserves the 55 acres of William Croghan’s former estate — which includes a circa-1792 mansion, outbuildings, and grounds used as examples of early 19th-century frontier America. William Croghan arrived in Kentucky territory with Geroge Rogers Clark, Louisville’s founder.

You can visit Locust Grove Tues.-Sat. from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. or stop by one of its upcoming events. We can’t wait for Fall on the Farm reenactments + the staged reading of "Frankenstein" from Kentucky Shakespeare.
