Bardstown Bourbon Company is opening a new experience downtown at 730 W. Main St. — complete with educational classes, a full-service bar + bottle shop.

Set to start pouring next summer, the bourbon attraction will hone in on the Bardstown, KY-based distillery’s modern skill in blending and aging bourbon + cocktail making.

Construction should begin sometime this month, with the design efforts being led by local firm Joseph & Joseph + Bravura Architects — the same group that worked on Angel’s Envy’s recent expansion and the impressive buildout on Michter’s Fort Nelson Distillery.

The new experience will join a thriving experiential bourbon scene downtown. Earlier this year, Barrels & Billets — a blend-and-bottle-your-own bourbon experience — opened at 800 W. Main St. and you know we made our own LOUtoday bourbon.

Bardstown Bourbon Company sits on 100 acres of farmland ~45 miles south of Louisville. It produces 40 different mashbills for a variety of big-name distillers like Jefferson’s, Belle Meade + James E. Pepper — in addition to distilling its own portfolio of bourbons.

Its Bardstown campus is also undergoing a $28 million expansion that will allow the distillery to produce 10 million proof gallons annually. Now that's a lot of whiskey.
