We've mentioned Lex Ride — the city's new downtown "circulator" — before, but we thought we'd cover how it works in time for this high-traffic and surge-pricing-heavy weekend.

For now, Lex Ride runs April through October, because it's a pilot program. Which means use it or potentially lose it. Think of it like riding an airport shuttle, except you and the other people are all going or coming from your favorite Lexington activities.

Here's what to know:

The hours: It runs Thursday through Saturday, 4 p.m.-12 a.m.
Shuttle buses cover two different loops, from downtown to the Warehouse Block/National Avenue and back, and from downtown to the Distillery District/Manchester Street and back.
Stops are marked with a sign. Take a peek at this map to see where you can ride.
Technically, it costs a dollar per ride, but so far there is no charge while people get used to using it.

Pro tip: Download the MyStop Mobile app on the App Store or the Google Play Store to track the shuttle in real time.

It's that easy — which is to say much easier than parking at the Burl for a hot show.
