Last week, we told you that a new tower was approved for Cass Street in Downtown Tampa, as first reported by Tampa Tomorrow. Now we're sharing the developing deets.

Meet 540 East Cass.

Silverstein Properties — the developer known for its work on the World Trade Center Towers — plans to build a 33-story luxury residential building in northside of downtown, located near the likes of the Floridian Palace Hotel and the Tampa Federal Courthouse.

“Tampa is one of the country’s fastest-growing residential markets — with its affordability, strong employment, great education, and beautiful destinations,” Marty Burger, CEO of Silverstein Properties, said in a statement. “With this development, we are thrilled to become active in the city of Tampa.”

The tower will be built by South Florida's Coastal Construction. The contractor also worked on TBAY projects like the Ritz-Carlton Residences, Tampa, on Bayshore Boulevard, the JW Marriott Tampa Water Street, and Heron Water Street Apartments.

Arquitectonica will serve as the architect and interior designer, according to Silverstein.

Once completed, the building will feature a mix of 450 studio, one-bedroom + two-bedroom rental units, all with views of the waterfront or the downtown cityscape.

The tower will also be located within walking distance from the Tampa Riverwalk (0.7 mile) + Water Street (0.8 mile), and the University of Tampa (1 mile).

Other features include:

498-space parking garage
Indoor/outdoor market-leading amenity space
10,300 sqft of retail space
Outdoor pool + barbecues
Fitness center, yoga room, and personal training studio
Co-working lounge
Game room

The developer expects to start construction in 2024, and wrap up the project in 2026.
