Are you looking for a new gig? You might try the tourism industry — especially with the recent influx of out-of-towners.

Here's the facts. Currently, more than 50,000 people have jobs in tourism in Hillsborough County. And a record 36 million people visited the Sunshine State in the first quarter of 2022.

During the pandemic, Visit Tampa Bay broadcast to the nation thatthe Tampa Convention Center was the No. 1 destination for major events during the shutdown period. With some of those events coming back for 2023 (a handful with more than 10,000 attendees) and new ones on the way, TCC is shaping up to have one of its busiest years yet.

Plus, it's easy to imagine that with all the space TCC seems to have — with more on the way — they can accommodate more tourists and event-goers.
