What's better than slapping that "I Voted" sticker on your shirt on Election Day? Being the one to dole them out at the door.

The 2026 General Election is approaching on Tuesday, Nov. 3 — and both Hillsborough and Pinellas are on the hunt for poll workers.

The perks

In addition to keeping our democracy running and meeting your neighbors, poll workers are paid for their time. Pay ranges from $240 to $355 in Pinellas, and $330 to $391 in Hillsborough, depending on position.

The rules

The requirements vary by location but can include:

Must be available to work all of Election Day
Must be available to set up the polling location prior to Election Day
Must read, write, and speak English
Must be a registered voter
Follow a no smoking policy
Must attend required poll worker training class or classes (depending on position)
Remain nonpartisan and courteous to voters
