Why drop a grand on a flight to Paris when you could have a grand old French themed time right on Water Street?

Last week we told you how you can now make reservations at Water Street Tampa's long-awaited French bistro Boulon Brasserie (1001 Water St., Tampa).

Well, the restaurant's doors officially open today.

The 7,000-sqft restaurant has room for 275 patrons and features a three-in-one cafe, bar, and restaurant space — on the ground floor of the Thousand & One office building.

Led by Executive Chef Habteab "Hab" Hamde, the kitchen flaunts a massive menu. Some notable options are the creamy French onion fondue, escargot, and a gently cured duck confit — which we had to Google. Turns out the dish is a cooked duck leg that's basted in its own fat + served on a savory crepe. If that's not your thing, Boulon offers many more brunch, lunch, and dinner options.

Don't even get us started on the desserts. Chef Hab is whipping up crème brûlée, warm butter cake, profiteroles, and a chocolate dome — perfect for the gram and the belly.
