Hispanic Heritage/Latinx Heritage Month (Tuesday, Sept. 15-Thursday, Oct. 15) is a national celebration of the history and contributions of our Hispanic and Latino communities. Add these festivals and educational events to your calendar.

Bonnet Springs Park's lineup of free events includes the Cultural Connections program + Classroom Drop-In on Saturday, Sept. 19, and a morning Zumba class with Talisha Dance Fitness on Saturday, Sept. 26.

It all leads up to Bienvenido a BSP, a huge celebration on Saturday, Oct. 10. Los Potritos will headline, and the park will be filled with vendors, performers, and food trucks from 3 to 9 p.m.

Visit the La Familia experience at the Florida Children's Museum daily through Thursday, Oct. 15 for exhibits, Spanish storytimes, performances, and cooking classes (tortillas and piraguas are on the menu).

For family fun outside of Lakeland, Polk County is hosting its free Hispanic Heritage Festival 12-4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19 at Lake Gwyn Park in Winter Haven.
