If you’ve taken a stroll down Lemon Street, you might have noticed new sculptures dotting the promenade. The art kicks off the start of the 26th Florida Outdoor Sculpture Competition.

Artists submitted more than 50 sculpture designs to a jury made up of staff from the city, the Ashley Gibson Barnett Museum of Art, and other local art community members who narrowed down the crop to the top 11.

The chosen few dot three blocks along Lemon Street, between South Florida Avenue + Massachusetts Avenue, through the end of the year. There's also one piece on display at the Lakeland Public Library again.

It's completely free to walk the promenade and take a closer look at each sculpture — you can also take a virtual audio tour accompanied by voice recordings from the artists.

The 11 sculptures include:

"Jammin'" by Keith Williams of Lakeland, FL
"Obelisk" by Russell Whiting of Breaux Bridge, LA
"Lumenfly" by Kirk Seese of Lutherville Timonium, MD
"Heart Locks" by Jessica Bradsher of Greenville, NC
"Core Oracle" by Adam Walls of Tryon, NC
"Sprout on the Run" and "Rogue Tuber" by Richard Herzog of Athens, GA
"Signal Bloom" by Jarod Charzewski of Charleston, SC
"The Three Sisters" by Jonathan Chandler of Halifax, VA
"Digital Sunburst" and "Distilling a Conversation" by Jim Gallucci of Greensboro, NC
