Saunas are the hottest thing in wellness right now, both literally and figuratively. Now, you don't have to fly to Finland to get your fix — Sisu Sauna & Wellness Studio is open on Edgewood Drive.

Inside, you can unwind in a steamy sauna, take a dip in a cold plunge tub, or stretch yourself in a hot yoga class. The studio also offers different types of body therapy, from massage to an oxygen bar. You can drop into any session, and memberships for yoga and the sauna are also available.

A lounge with brown seating, a pampas grass installation, and a hand mural reading 'Please do not feed the fears.' — According to the studio, "sisu" means "to have guts" in Finnish. | Photo by LALtoday

Connor here. I visited the studio to try the guided sauna + cold plunge class, which is said to improve cardiovascular health. My group of six hopped between a sweltering 180º sauna and tubs filled with 52º water.

Nervous as I was, our teacher, Ryan Hebda, made it comfortable with discussion questions (plus some welcome distraction games in the cold plunge). I recommend trying Sisu to mix up your wellness regimen.
