Date night dining

Ozumo Sushi Bar & Grill | 📍 355 Santana Row

Ozumo’s sleek decor, gourmet appetizers + fun cocktails makes for a great spot to take your date when you want to make it o-fish-al. Impress them with an order of wagyu beef tartare, if you’re feeling adventurous.

Impress the foodies

Akane Sushi Restaurant | 📍 250 Third St., Los Altos

Akane has premier sushi + service. The fresh negitoro maki with fatty tuna will have those with even the most particular palettes saying, “Oh, that’s good fish.” In authentic Japanese cuisine, there are no specialty rolls — but the sashimi spreads are delectable.

Grocery store greats

Nijiya Market | 📍 240 Jackson St.

Nijiya Market is far from gas station sushi. With fresh stock in the mornings + afternoons, this grocer offers great specialty rolls and pre-cooked items. We recommend grabbing the inari (sushi rice inside fried tofu).

All you can eat

Kenzo Sushi | 📍 5465 Snell Ave.

Get your fill with Kenzo’s $31.95 lunch deal or $35.95 dinner deal. There’s a two-hour limit + you can order up to three items per round in unlimited rounds — but make sure you order a little each time, as leftovers will be charged at individual prices.

Tako-bout takeout

Trifecta Cooks | 📍 Online orders only

This Sunnyvale-based deluxe takeout business offers bento boxes with fresh sashimi, sushi tacos, and fancy add-ons like A-5 wagyu nigiri. The boxes are made available through Instagram, so follow to stay updated on Trifecta's next box drop.

Go fish-less

Blue Mango | 📍 635 Coleman Ave.

It sounds like a contradiction, but vegan sushi is delicious. Try out Blue Mango’s Green Monster roll with sweet potato + seaweed salad or the refreshing Fruit Roll-Up with mango, cucumber, and mandarin oranges.
