Shopping for a furry friend? Before your next adventure, make sure your pets have everything they need to keep their tails wagging. We know San Diego has bigger chains — Petco is definitely playing ball here — but if you want to shop small and local, these are the purrfect places to visit.

Decker's Dog + Cat, La Jolla + Bay Park

This store aims to make shopping fun by offering products that go beyond generic. Owners will find specialized food and supplements, stylish essentials, and toys for every occasion. And to help more pets find their homes, the business provides monthly donations to local nonprofits.
