Sure, maybe New York City is what comes to mind when we think about New Year’s Eve, but we’ve got proof Seattle knows how to get down. 🎆

Yesterday, WalletHub released its list of Best Cities for New Year’s that factored inlike event ticket prices, weather forecasts + legality of fireworks. And while our rainy tendencies didn’t probably help, we still made it to No. 12 overall.

Here’s some events that will keep our rep going strong.

🥂 For views of the Space Needle’s fireworks

For the show's first return since 2018 (high winds and pandemics don't make for optimal celebrations), the Space Needle has partnered with KING5 News, T-Mobile, and Lightspeed Design to build in a new twist to the usual celebration — augmented reality.

For those who tune into KING5's livestream, an entire digital art show will be layered on top live video of the fireworks to create a unique online viewing experience (technology's pretty cool, huh?). Check out a sneak peak here.

And while no viewing parties are happening on the Seattle Center's campus this year, you can still step outside to see the show or check out one of these options.

Official Livestream Viewing Party | Queen Anne Beer Hall | Event details like hours have not been released yet, but keep an eye out on the website for updates.
