Want to celebrate the day of thanks, but not planning on cooking a full dinner this year? Don’t quit Thanksgiving cold turkey — we’ve got you covered with where to dine-in + carry-out for Thanksgiving dinner.

We are totally falling for these local options for mashed potatoes, yams, and pumpkin pie — plus, we break down where to get local ingredients for those rolling up their sleeves in the kitchen this holiday. What could be butter?

Where to dine-in:

The Boathouse, 4708 E. Old Main St. + 11800 W. Broad St., open 4-9 p.m.

All Boathouse locations (including Rocketts Landing, Sunday Park, and Short Pump) are hosting a buffet-style meal this Thanksgiving and still have a few spaces left. They’ve got turkey + apple crisp, but also some of the seafood classics this spot is known for year-round. The buffet is $48 for adults, $19 for children + free for kids under 5-years-old.

Max’s on Broad, 305 Brook Rd., open 11 a.m.-9 p.m.

Head to the Arts District for a traditional Thanksgiving feast of must-have ham + turkey, along with a plethora of side dishes like mashed potatoes + green bean casserole. For an extra $5, you can finish off the meal with a pumpkin, pecan or apple pie. We advise coming around lunchtime, as the reservations for the evening are pretty crowded.

Where to take-out:

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse, 9200 Stony Point Parkway, open 11 a.m.-8 p.m.

If you’d like to stay home with the family, Fleming’s is offering a three-course catered meal you can pick up curbside, or order for delivery. There’s a menu for the kids palate, but also a special way for the adults to toast to the season. Ever order an old-fashioned from your couch?

Proper Pie Co., 2505 E. Broad St., open 12-6 p.m. today + Wednesday

Who says you need to save pies for dessert? You can get ahead of the dinner rush by nabbing a fresh Proper Pie today and tomorrow. They’ve got savory options like meat + cheese pies, as well as sweet treats by the slice. Ordering begins at 10 a.m.

Where to shop local ingredients:

Lakeside Farmer's Market, 6110 Lakeside Ave., open 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday

Catch the biweekly market at the Lakeside Towne Center just ahead of the holiday for your spices, produce + something extra to add to your Thanksgiving table. Or, bring the family to the Saturday market to get outside.

Sen Organic Farmer Market, 2820 W. Cary St, open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday.

Get your meats, cheeses, spices, dairy, beer + wine ahead of the big day at this permanent market on Cary St. You can shop online, but you must pick up your wares by 5 p.m. Wednesday, as the shop itself is closed on Thanksgiving.

We know not everyone celebrates this tasty holiday the same. Let us know what local spot you like to bring to the table.
