Did you catch the NBA Draft last week? What a whirlwind. This was the Spurs' third time receiving the No.1 pick in the franchise's history. Although all the hype is associated with the top 10 picks, the Spurs had two other picks — 33rd and 44th — in the draft.

Draft day can be quite chaotic, so we're breaking all the rounds down..

What is the NBA Draft?

After the NBA Finals in June, all 30 teams come together at a predetermined location — this year was at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY — to draft players who are eligible and want to join the league.

Who did we pick?

This season, the Spurs had three draft picks throughout both rounds. However, the Spurs traded their 33rd pick — Leonard Miller — during the draft to the Minnesota Timberwolves for two future draft picks.

Here's who we picked up:

Victor Wembanyama
This 19-year old, 7'5" Center from France was selected as the No.1 pick in the NBA Draft. Victor Wembemyama — or Wemby is what basketball fans are calling him — arrived in San Antonio on Friday to begin training with the team.

Sidy Cissoko
What are the odds of drafting two 19-year old French players? The Spurs picked up this Guard from the NBA G League Ignite. Fun fact: Sidy Cissoko is the first European-born prospect to join Ignite.

Next year, the Spurs will have five picks in the 2024 draft as the result of trades during the previous seasons and the draft.

So, what's next?

Victor Wembemyama will join the Spurs for the NBA Summer League next month. No word on when Sidy Cissoko will join the team.

In true NBA fashion, stay tuned for any additional trades throughout the summer and for the 2023-2024 season schedule.
