A $10 million transformation to the old CPS Energy headquarters building at 146 Navarro St. is expected to break ground in mid-April of this year.

Here’s what we know about the newest mixed-use destination coming to the heart of the Alamo City.

Who is behind the project?

Los Angeles-based real estate investment company, BH Properties, will bring 100,000 sqft of revitalized space and turn it into a hub for modern retail, restaurants + parking options along the River Walk.
Global architecture firm, Gensler, will re-design a total of three floors, its nine-foot floor heights, 1,500-sqft wraparound patios + floor-to-ceiling windows that occupy this 1987 building.

What new features can we expect?

20,000 sqft of street-level retail, which will include a two-story restaurant at the southeast corner of the building at Presa St.
750-1,500 sqft retail pods on a new pocket park plaza adjacent to La Villita, that will be marketed to a variety of users.
A parking garage that will be open to the public and can accommodate 600+ cars.
A gorgeous lobby that features an extruded glass box, metal panels, and new lighting.
Spaces for murals will be sourced through a public art competition in partnership with Centro San Antonio.

The project hopes to make this area of the River Walk the newest walkable district and connect the redevelopment to La Villita + the new Civic Park. Construction will take approximately 12–14 months to complete.
