We’ve got a riddle for you:

I used to hold stories on paper. I quench thirst, but not with water. I hide in a place of history, where secrets abide.

What am I?

Did you guess Thompson’s Bookstore?

With its vintage bookshop-inspired bar, basement speakeasy, and luxurious cigar lounge, the prohibition-style concept is one of Fort Worth’s most unique event spaces.

Invite friends, family, or coworkers to escape the ordinary for a night by hosting your next event at Thompson’s Bookstore.

We can’t plan your party for you, but here’s a look at some suggested events for each space:

For intimate gatherings

Are you looking to host a small cocktail party or literary event? The Bookstore level is a versatile space surrounded by large bookcases with cozy lighting — and yes, it even smells like old books.

For larger groups

The Speakeasy and dedicated event space offer flexible floor plans, plush seating, and extensive bar space for larger events like birthday parties or wedding receptions. After all, what’s cooler than partying in a private speakeasy?

For cigar aficionados

The Cigar Lounge offers the ultimate immersive experience. Sink into a big leather chair and enjoy a premium cigar with a group of close friends or host an upscale networking event.

For an interactive experience

Try a mixology class. Participants will learn how to mix, shake, and stir three classic cocktails. Taste everyone’s creations and see who’s the best bartender in your group.

Remember how we said we couldn’t plan your event for you? That’s still true, but Thompson’s has a team of event coordinators who can make recommendations on how to customize each space to match your vision.
