Small Business Saturday, an initiative dedicated to celebrating and supporting small and locally-owned businesses + the impact they have in our communities, is on Saturday, Nov. 30.

The day falls between two of the biggest shopping days of the year — Black Friday and Cyber Monday — and has become an annual shopping tradition for many since its establishment by American Express in 2010.

If you’re looking to join in on the festivities this year (or really, shop local year-round), try these small businesses recommended by DALtoday followers:

Fibonacci Plants | We could all use a little green in our lives — pick up a fairy castle cactus or a strawberry begonia for your green-thumbed friend.
Royal Alchemyst | Long-lasting fragrances that also nourish your skin? Sign us up.
Peace of You Aromatics | There's nothing like a cozy candle to set the mood — choose from scents like warm citrus or ocean winds.
Amor Y Queso | Name a better combination than love and cheese — we'll wait. And while we wait, you can pick out one of this biz's custom charcuterie boards to wow your guests.
Starship Bagel | You're gonna need some energy while you're out shopping — a pizza bagel from one of "The Very Best Bagels in the US (Yes, Outside New York)" is likely to help set you up for success.
Afrodite Girlie | Charmed, we're sure. This sweet little jewelry shop allows you to customize charm bracelets for the people you think deserve to shine a little more than they already do.
Centre | These locally-curated sneakers were made for walking, and that's just what they'll do.
Space Cowboy Home | This home decor shop has home goods that are just as playful and out of this world as the shop's name implies.

Reminder: Shopping + supporting small isn’t limited to just this day — we love letting our local businesses shine all year long in our collection of City Guides.
