When ACL Music Festival tickets go on sale today, they don’t just promise an epic weekend at Zilker Park — they also help keep Austin green.

As the festival’s longtime beneficiary, the Austin Parks Foundation receives a portion of every ticket sold. Over the past two decades, the partnership has generated more than $79 million for Austin’s green spaces and supported over 260 park improvement projects across the city.

Officials announced yesterday that Austin’s parks will receive upgrades to the tune of $8.5 million thanks to last year’s festival alone. The giant check will go directly toward improvements like:

Establishing Austin’s first all-abilities playground in Onion Greek Metro Park
Improvements to the city’s sports courts across Districts 1-10
Phase 1 construction for Grand Meadow Neighborhood Park
Trail improvements and volunteer stewardship for greenbelts and preserves in Districts 5, 7, and 8
A new playground for Chestnut Pocket Park
