East/West 1st Street — the street’s original name, dating back to 1887, which remained in use for over a century.

Have another idea? You can submit your own name, but there are a few guardrails. Proposed names can’t already be in use, include unconventional spellings, or be difficult to remember during an emergency, among other requirements.

Take our poll to voice your opinion or suggest a new name, and we’ll share the results in an upcoming newsletter.
