Kids, this is the story of how I met your mother, and it was all thanks to NASHtoday.

Ok, so maybe that’s not exactly how the 2000s sitcom went, but if Ted Mosby had consulted us for date night ideas, we could’ve shaved the show down to two seasons (and saved his kids a lot of time). Regardless, whether you’ve met “the one” or are hoping to impress someone new, we’ve got 30+ local date night ideas that are legen — wait for it — dary.

For the ones who want a night out on the town

Find out how to make them laugh by watching a show at Zanies. Feeling confident? Take them to a Roast the Host open mic night at Third Coast Comedy Club.
Get a boatload of good times on the General Jackson Showboat during one of the evening cruises on the Cumberland River.
Head downtown for the Second Saturday Art Crawl, where you can stroll through open galleries at night and enjoy light refreshments.
Head to the Tennessee Performing Arts Center during Broadway season, or see a production at Schermerhorn Symphony Center with the Nashville Symphony's Date Night Package.
Pick up a new skill — like glassblowing with Nashville Glasshaüs or a course on the University School of Nashville's evening class catalog.
An easy all-in-one evening starts with cocktails and shareable dishes at White Limozeen, followed by singing and dancing at Cross-Eyed Critters.

If the way to their heart is through their stomach

Source ingredients for dinner at home (and don’t forget the flowers) at one of Nashville’s 10+ farmers markets.
Lean into the romance with an intimate wine tasting experience in Leiper's Creek (that’s right, bring your water shoes). Munch on a curated charcuterie board for two paired with wine.
If date night calls for candlelight and carbs, all of the seasonal pastas at Frankies 925 Spuntino are made in-house and the atmosphere is cozy and laidback. Those dining shouldn’t miss the Tiramisu to end on a sweet-but-not-too-sweet note.
There's a reason The Loveless Cafe has been a Nashville staple since 1951. Bond with your boo over build-your-own biscuit sliders — made with love, of course.
Frothy Monkey was inspired by its annual Frothy Love Valentine's Day Dinners. That's why the team decided couples should celebrate all-year-long with a three-course date night dinner series.

Show just how wild you are about them by taking one of the Nashville Zoo's Backstage Pass Tours, which include up-close feeding opportunities.

For the ones who like to play games (just not with your heart)

If you're looking for somewhere to dine and dive into a new sport, learn to curl at Tee Line or reserve a spot on Fogg Street Lawn Club's rooftop for lawn bowling.

If you’re really hoping that it works out

Head to Paris for the evening with a visit to Pont Neuf. Inspired by owners Mattie Bush-Martin and Taylor Martin’s wedding near the namesake bridge, this spot keeps things simple: light bites, spritzes, and wines by the glass or bottle.
Show off your moves during a dance class with Arthur Murray Dance Centers. Bonus: Your first class is free.
Explore the Shelby Bottoms or Stones River greenways with Bike the Greenway. Pro tip: If you’re looking to take some of the work out of the workout, rent a pedal-assist bike.
Climb to the top of their “best date” list with an indoor session at The Climb Gyms.
