News of a new festival in town has us wondering, “Where have you bean all my life?” You’ve guessed it — we’re talking about an entire day dedicated to NASHtoday’s favorite drink: coffee. If you’re still buzzing from the energy of Drink Up Week + need a morning pick-me-up to look forward to, grab a second cup of joe and sip on what’s to come from Good Coffee Fest.

☕ What is it?

Good Coffee Fest was created in a collaborative effort between Humphreys Street and Harvest Hands. The inaugural event will blend family-friendly fun and coffee-forward events together to celebrate Nashville’s small businesses and coffees from all over the world, provided by the 615’s own coffee community. Ticket sales will benefit continued growth of the historic Napier-Sudekum neighborhood via the work of Harvest Hands Community Development Corporation.

☕ Where, when, and tickets?

The festival will take place at The Outfield in Wedgewood-Houston (416 Chestnut St.) on Sat., Oct. 15 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Tickets are on sale now, ranging from $17 general admission to a $185 VIP experience.

☕ Participating vendors

So far, the event will host six local coffee vendors (like Good Citizen and Oye), plus two adult beverage and food vendors (Corsair Distillery and Diskin Cider + Bad Luck Burger and Daddy’s Dogs). Booked performers include Jed Harrelson and Natasha Blane, among others. Don’t see your name on the list and want to? Apply to be a vendor by sending an email to the Humphreys Street team.

☕ Add-on experiences

You’ll be your own barista in no time learning the basics of milk steaming and espresso shots in a beginner latte art class. Not a beginner? There’s a class for you, too. You can perfect your own home coffee routine by learning French press, Chemex, and V60 techniques in the home brewing class. Of course, learning anything must first start with the fundamentals. Step back into the classroom and learn about the origins of the coffee supply chain during the Seed to Cup add-on.
