Break out the lawn furniture, dust off the pit, and grab some fresh tools while you're at it. We're grilling you on local products that will make your backyard barbecue the talk of the neighborhood.

Meat the main dish

Find the centerpiece to your cookout at Bare Bones Butcher, Porter Road, or The Butcher Block for fresh cuts of everything from steak and brisket to burgers and sausage.

Spice things up

The key to completing the main course is the secret seasoning. Taste test the Applewood Chipotle Rub or Wild for Salmon Rub from Nashville Spice Co. or pick up Sperry's All Purpose Seasoning for every occasion.

Say yes to sides

Hit up one of the 10+ local farmers markets for fresh fruits and veggies to accompany your main course or stop by Coco's Italian Market for your pick of pasta.

Extra, extra, read all about it

If you're all about the fixins' — add a little flair to your fare with The Loveless Cafe's pickled vegetables and relishes, Martin's Bar-B-Que Joint sauce, and Tennessee Artisan Honey.

Break out baked goods

You can’t go wrong with fresh bread from Dozen Bakery. Need a gluten-free option? Check out Sunflower Bakehouse. No cookout is complete without a sweet treat — stock up at Baked in Nashville or Gluten Free Goose.

Savor the sips

Cleanse your palate with a mixed six-pack from The Black Abbey Brewing Company and fill your dispensers at home with an iced tea variety from The Spice & Tea Exchange.
