Metro Nashville's indoor mask mandate is no longer in effect + all capacity restrictions have been lifted.

Metro Public Health officials met late Thursday to evaluate the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s updated guidance that fully-vaccinated individuals can stop wearing masks + physically distancing.

So far, 36% of Nashvillians are fully vaccinated. Earlier this week, the Tennessee Department of Health announced the state will begin administering the COVID-19 vaccine to 12- to 15-year-olds.

Local health officials recommend those who are unvaccinated wear masks when in crowds, indoors, and when unable to socially distance. Despite the city’s decision to lift the mandate, businesses will still be able to establish their own rules about wearing masks.
