This week is National Small Business Week, so we asked you to show your favorite locally-owned places some extra love.

Fun fact: According to 2021 census data, Davidson County is home to ~19,500 small businesses (49 employees or fewer). Of those employers, nearly half employ five or fewer people. Talk about small but mighty.

Here’s what you had to say about your favorite shops, restaurants, and services.

“Caliber Coffee [in] Donelson. The avocado toast on homemade focaccia is my favorite food in town. I crave it daily! More importantly, they are great people on a great mission! Check out their ‘Our Shot of Grace’ board!” — Whitney S.

“I love e.Allen! Woman-owned, stylish clothes, and great customer service!” — Theresa M.

“Forza Pilates. Beautiful studio and Sydney Dumler's class!” — Megan S.

“I love Nashville Pet Products because they have a wider selection of products than big box stores. They always offer help and personal advice about what might meet your pet's needs!” — Carson C.

"Voodoo Gumbo in Bellevue for excellent food excellent service." — Ed H.

“Simply a Fan is a small business that organizes trips to sporting events and tells stories about fans and how they became a fan. I love that this business creates opportunities to create community between fans and meet people who share a common interest. I also love that, depending on the trip, all major details are taken care of, so you can sign up and show up and not have to worry about other details of planning.” — Beth J.

“RMS, aka Roy’s Meat Service, might have the nicest bunch of people I have ever met.” — Patrick S.

“I knew Midtown's Sarabhas Creamery would be a go-to spot for ice cream and chai when I first visited in 2022. I love the iced rose chai paired with a scoop of butterscotch or vegan mango. — City Editor Dylan

Dr. Correll and the team at Dental Haus Germantown always get me in and out for appointments quickly and thoroughly explain what they're seeing each time I visit so that I can stay on top of my dental routine. The office atmosphere is just an added bonus. — City Editor Skylar

You know we love supporting local year-round at NASHtoday, but we wanted to do something extra special for the small businesses that make a big difference in Music City. That's where you come in.

We're asking you to shoutout your favorite local spot (think: everything from services like nails, tire changes, and house cleaning to retailers, restaurants and beyond). We're sure you have several in mind already.

Now, head to the form we've created and submit two things (the more detail, the better) you love about the small biz of your choosing — and don't forget to mention the name.

When you're out shopping small, we'll share your picks in the newsletter. You might find a new favorite based on a fellow reader's response, and the businesses mentioned will get to look back at those spotlights throughout the year. It's a win, win.
