Knowing your love language can help you prepare for the most romantic day of the year (we’re looking at you, Valentine’s Day). Here are our recommendations for activities + places around Chattanooga based on your love language.

Don’t know your love language? Take this quiz to find out what you value in a relationship.

Physical Touch

If you like nothing more than a good hug from a loved one or cuddling on the couch, we suggest taking a candle making class at Good Fortune Soap and Spa. The make and take experience package allows you to mix your favorite scents into candles or body products.

Acts of Service

If the way you express your love is by doing helpful things for others (think: cleaning with the dishes, opening doors, or running errands), we suggest a volunteering date to satisfy that giving heart. You can check out Keep the Tennessee River Beautiful for all kinds of clean-up opportunities to lend a helping hand.

Receiving Gifts

If you think of gifts as symbolic of love and affection, you’re in luck. Pick out something for the artisan lover at blue skies, hunt for a vintage treasure at Vinterest, or support your diehard local with Chattanooga swag from Locals Only Gifts & Goods.

Quality Time

If you like to express affection through time spent together, we recommend a stroll through Songbirds Museum — keep an eye on NOOGAtoday’s Instagram for a special look at its newest exhibits — the Chattanooga Pinball Museum (we hear there’s a BOGO deal on admission this weekend), along the Blue Blazes Trail, or around Chattanooga’s Sculpture Gardens.

Words of Affirmation

If you are someone who loves verbal or written compliments expressing appreciation, hear the poets at the Wanderlinger Brewing Co. and take notes, or pick out some The Lost Art of Stationery gifts to pen a thoughtful letter.
