Bonjour, GVL. Danielle here. I recently explored wines from France with the help of Lowes Foods at the Pelham Road location's monthly wine and cheese pairing.

At a price point of $15, you'll sip four samples of wine (plus a bonus fifth pour of your favorite) along with a plate full of cheese, and you'll leave with the knowledge to impress your guests at your next gathering. Here's how you can Try This.

What we tried:

We tried four varieties of French wine:

Barton & Guestier Vouvray
Mâcon-Villages Chardonnay
Chapoutier Belleruche Côtes-du-Rhône Rouge
Chevalier du Grand Robert Bordeaux Supérieur

Bonus: They try to keep the price point of each bottle under $20.

What not to miss:

I may or may not (read: definitely did) have left with all four bottles of wine, but as a cheese lover, I have to say the cheese is what you truly can't miss.

Learning about the different varieties and which pairs best with the wines on the table, I grabbed "one of each" cheese, too, before heading home to share the pairings with my friends.

What we’re still talking about:

This month, Lowes also highlighted local beekeepers with their pairings.

I dripped honey from The Carolina Bee Honey Company in Travelers Rest over every bite of cheese. Did you know you can buy local honey right there in Lowes Foods?
