When my husband and I purchased our first home, we were so excited. We could finally hang pictures without losing a security deposit, we could plant flowers, paint walls, rip up carpet and make it our own.

What we really got was a broken pipe in our front yard less than a week before our wedding, a flooded basement this fall, and washing machine plumbing that certainly isn’t up-to-code. It’s been an adventure. 😨

But of course, we all have homeownership nightmare stories, and plenty of questions that we’re really afraid to ask.

🔥 Should I turn my water heater off if I’m going on vacation?

1 What can’t I flush down my toilet… and why?

🚿 Why do I have to wait so long for hot water in my bathroom when it’s so close to the water heater?

🌬 What is the difference between ‘auto’ and ‘cool/heat’ on my thermostat?

💨 Why don’t I have a place to put an air filter?

🚰 How do I unclog my sink without calling for help?

Just to name a few…
