DYK? The median income for ages 22-27 differs almost $20K you look at education level. Those with only a high school degree make ~$25,000/year; while those with a college degree make ~$43,000/year. 💵

So, getting that degree is clearly still important. But if you’ve spent time (and money) for a degree of your own, you know that squeezing in 120 college credits into four years (along with some extracurricular activities) can be a real challenge.

Enter: The Early College (Dual Enrollment) Program at Greenville Technical College, where students in all Greenville County high schools can start earning college credits. The program even works with students in Greenville home school programs.

The program currently has 1,400 enrolled students + sees ~15 students per year graduate with a high school diploma and an associate’s degree. (Plus: Greenville Tech makes it affordable. See a cost comparison to other local universities.)

We’ve broken down the benefits of the program below:

- Reduces college tuition cost: Student loan debt is all too real. Students can save $5,000+ by taking up to two semesters of classes early. 💰
- Establishes good study habits: Students can learn real-world skills like time management + critical thinking before they’re thrown into a college atmosphere. 📚
- College readiness: Students can take any of the 100+ course options. Most popular classes include English Composition, Sociology, College Algebra, Elementary Spanish + even the Welding Pathway program. 🎓

Better understanding of career options: Early college classes help students make the connection between coursework + career fields. Bonus: After graduation, Greenville Tech’s Career Services offer lifetime employment assistance. 👩‍⚕️
